On November 12, it was reported that the Romania government recently announced a major decision, approved by Prime Minister Machel Choraku, to provide financial assistance of up to 100 million euros to Nokia Tire's factory in Romania. This move is a concrete implementation of the commitment made by Prime Minister Machel when he visited the tire factory in September this year. At that time, the Prime Minister spoke highly of the tire manufacturing factory with a total investment of 625 million euros and created 550 jobs, calling it an "ultra-modern" industrial model.
Machel Choraku said in a public speech that this government assistance is not only a strong support for the Noji Tire Romania project, but also a clear example of the government's commitment to supporting private enterprise investment and promoting local economic development. He emphasized that this move is of great significance to promoting the re-industrialization process in Romania and is expected to form a demonstration effect nationwide, further attract foreign investment, and promote industrial upgrading.
According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, Nuoji Tire made strategic adjustments in 2022, sold its Russian factory, and quickly invested resources into new projects in Romania. The project officially broke ground in May 2023, and in July, just two months later, the first tire was successfully rolled off the production line. The factory is designed to have an annual production capacity of 6 million passenger car tires and is expected to reach full production in 2025, injecting strong impetus into Romania's tire manufacturing industry.
