Sailun wins important global certification
The global environmental information disclosure benchmark certification has another good news! On February 7, CDP (Center for Global Environmental Information Research), an internationally recognized non-profit environmental information disclosure authority, released its 2024 rating report. Sailun Group stood out in the selection of the two core issues of climate change and water security, and won the "B-level" double certification. This not only marks that the group's environmental governance capabilities have leapt into the upper-middle echelon of global companies, but also highlights the substantial breakthrough of Chinese manufacturing companies in the field of ESG.
As the corporate environmental information disclosure standard setting agency designated by the United Nations Environment Programme, CDP continues to promote the transparency of environmental data for 230,000 companies and more than 1,100 cities by building a global unified environmental performance evaluation system. The 2024 annual report shows that a total of 24,853 companies from 89 economies (accounting for about 67% of the global total market value) participated in the assessment, of which Chinese companies submitted 3,612 copies, a record high, reflecting the growing environmental responsibility awareness of the Chinese industry.
After 20 years of deep cultivation in green manufacturing, Sailun Group has built a sustainable development matrix of "full industrial chain + full life cycle". Through the innovative application of "liquid gold" new material technology, the rolling resistance of tires is reduced by 30%; a water resource recycling system is built, and the water consumption per unit product is reduced by 45% compared with the industry average; the "energy efficiency brain" built on the industrial Internet platform reduces carbon emissions by more than 120,000 tons per year. This award is not only an authoritative recognition of its systematic environmental protection practices, but also confirms the forward-looking nature of the group's "green technology-driven growth" strategy.
Based on the new stage of the "dual carbon" goal, Sailun Group is accelerating the upgrading of its environmental governance system. According to the group's ESG committee, it will invest 580 million yuan to implement the green manufacturing attack plan, focus on improving the carbon footprint full life cycle management system, build a smart environmental monitoring network covering 8 major production bases around the world, and strive to build the industry's first zero-carbon factory by 2026. This move will not only reshape the rubber tire industry ecology, but also contribute a quantifiable "Chinese solution" to global climate governance.
It is worth noting that in the latest CDP industry benchmarking report, Sailun Group's environmental management maturity has surpassed 83% of global peers, marking the first time that Chinese rubber tire companies have joined the ranks of global sustainable development benchmarks. This is not only a positive response from the international community to China's green transformation of manufacturing, but also sets a new paradigm for ESG practice for the industry's high-quality overseas expansion.
