The 2025 China Transportation Association Science and Technology Award Ceremony and the Modern Integrated Transport Academic Forum were held.
Recently, the 2025 Annual China Communications and Transportation Association Science and Technology Award Commendation Conference (referred to as the "Commendation Conference") and the Modern Integrated Transportation Academic Forum were held in Beijing. The conference, themed "Technology Empowering the Construction of a Strong Transportation Nation," brought together academicians, experts, researchers, university scholars, enterprise representatives, and people from various sectors to discuss transportation technology innovation and high-quality development strategies.
Yang Shengshi, President of the China Communications and Transportation Association, stated in his speech that the association will place greater emphasis on technological innovation, continuously improve the quality of science and technology awards, strengthen the application of research results, and unite the industry's innovative efforts to empower the construction of a strong transportation nation with high-quality technological services. He proposed prioritizing the development of new productive forces as a strategic focus, promoting the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, and effectively transforming scientific and technological achievements into tangible results for the high-quality development of transportation.
The commendation conference announced a total of 305 outstanding scientific and technological achievements and 40 advanced individuals. It awarded 6 Special Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress, 1 Special Prize for Technological Invention, 94 First Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress, 9 First Prizes for Technological Invention, 193 Second Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress, and 2 Second Prizes for Technological Invention. Additionally, 5 individuals were awarded the Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award, and 35 individuals received the Youth Innovation in Science and Technology Award.
During the conference, the Modern Integrated Transportation Academic Forum was held, focusing on serving major national strategies and promoting the high-quality development of transportation. Academician Yao Yangping from the Chinese Academy of Sciences explained the mechanism of the "Lid Effect" at airports and safety control technologies for high-fill airports. Ye Yangsheng, Chief Engineer of China State Railway Group, discussed the technical pathways for reducing or eliminating human involvement in the maintenance of plateau railway infrastructure. Li Liancheng, Director of the Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, shared insights from studying the "15th Five-Year Plan" and elaborated on six new requirements for improving the integrated transportation system. Fang Hai, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, proposed the overall framework for the high-quality development of transportation, including "three shifts," "one network and four modernizations," and "four first-class goals." Other research institution leaders, such as Xu Jian, Deputy Director of the Highway Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport; Feng Yue, Deputy Director of the Water Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport; Wang Xuhui, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Science and Technology Research Institute of China; and Wang Feng, Director of the Development Research Center of the State Post Bureau, delivered reports on topics such as green transformation of roads, green development of shipping, intelligent airport construction, and modern postal logistics.
The commendation conference was hosted throughout by Ke Linchun, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Communications and Transportation Association. At the conference, Chu Feiyue, Vice President of the China Communications and Transportation Association, released the "Statistical Analysis and Innovation Development Report on the Science and Technology Awards of the China Communications and Transportation Association."
