China Communications Water Transport Planning and Design Institute's key technology for lock water delivery passes preliminary acceptance review.
Recently, the project "Key Technology Research on Efficient Lock Water Conveyance System" undertaken by CCCC Water Transport Planning and Design Institute successfully passed the preliminary acceptance review. Led by the institute and in collaboration with Chongqing Southwest Waterway Engineering Research Institute, Hohai University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Wuhan University of Technology, and other universities and research institutions, the project focuses on core industry challenges and difficulties such as "efficient water conveyance systems," "water-saving locks," and "structural stress state and deformation." It has tackled key technologies for efficient lock water conveyance systems, providing important technical support for the construction plans of the Yuan River Channel Improvement Project, the Pinglu Canal Project, and others.
This project has achieved a series of innovative research results in areas such as the water conveyance system of lock wall galleries, rapid opening and closing of working valves, and water sealing of lock structure joints. Moving forward, the project team will continue to rely on the core technological achievements of the project, align with the major engineering needs of the national inland waterway transport sector, strengthen collaborative efforts with research institutions, and actively contribute to the high-quality and sustainable development of inland waterway transport.
