The world's largest intelligent, eco-friendly, multifunctional dredging vessel model debuts at the China Maritime Museum.
On September 8, the model of the core benchmark vessel "Jiaotong Construction No. 10" of CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd., known for its globally leading technological innovation, outstanding engineering achievements, and iconic industry status, was donated to the China Maritime Museum for permanent collection and exhibition. The world's largest intelligent, environmentally friendly, multifunctional paving vessel model will be showcased in the China Maritime Museum as a "current meritorious heavy equipment," capturing the five-generation evolution of China's hydraulic engineering equipment and its journey of independent leadership, becoming a valuable physical historical artifact documenting the industry's leap in new productivity.
The predecessor of CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. was the Junpu Engineering Bureau, established in 1905 for dredging the Huangpu River, marking the beginning of China's modern national dredging industry. With 121 years of profound development heritage, the Shanghai Dredging Company under CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. has been deeply involved in the paving construction field since the 1990s. Over more than two decades, it has achieved five generations of complete independent innovation and iteration, transitioning from manual mechanization to automation upgrades, and then to intelligent integration and green leadership. The fifth-generation flagship equipment "Jiaotong Construction No. 10," developed by CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd., has achieved three global firsts in vessel size, single paving area, and process integration. It is currently the world's largest, most functionally integrated, most intelligent, and most environmentally friendly multifunctional intelligent paving vessel, setting new global industry technical standards. The vessel's hardware configuration leads the industry, equipped with dedicated thrust and side thrust devices, enabling stable operations and emergency avoidance capabilities. It can adapt to all working conditions in coastal shallows, deep-water ports, river channels, and more, serving a wide range of national major projects such as embankment protection, port land reclamation, deep-water soft foundation treatment, underwater protection for cross-sea bridges, and river and lake ecological restoration. With modular integrated design, the vessel can quickly switch construction modes, integrating traditional soft mattress laying, concrete interlocking block laying, sandbag filling and caisson stone dumping, and deep-water soft foundation treatment. It is hailed as the "Transformer" of the hydraulic construction field and is currently in active service, efficiently fulfilling various major engineering projects.

As a benchmark carrier of new productivity in the marine engineering field, this vessel is equipped with a self-developed integrated intelligent paving digital platform by Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd., combining satellite high-precision positioning and underwater AR surveying technology. It achieves precise and controllable paving accuracy, automatic sand filling, intelligent hoisting, fully automated paving, one-click precise vessel movement, and full-process collaborative underwater construction visualization. Compared to traditional construction team operations, this series of vessels reduces manpower input by one-third and increases daily construction capacity by 30%, driving the industry's transformation and upgrade from labor-intensive to technology-intensive and intelligent-intensive, significantly shortening the construction cycle of major projects and providing solid equipment support for the high-quality construction of numerous national super projects.
In terms of green and low-carbon development, this vessel is the world's only paving vessel to receive the Green Ship Additional Notation, pioneering the industry's first all-electric propulsion system, eliminating the risk of fuel leakage and water pollution at the source. It is reported that CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. has initiated the construction of a new generation of intelligent shallow-draft paving vessels, precisely addressing the shortcomings of construction in extremely shallow wetland areas, achieving full-depth and full-scenario construction coverage from shallow wetlands to offshore and deep-water areas.
