According to customs data, in August 2024, China's imports of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, cigarette film, primary shape, mixed rubber, and composite rubber) were 494,200 tons, an increase of 2.09% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 9.47%. 1-8 The cumulative import volume in January was 3.4498 million tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 20.26%.
Technical classification Natural rubber
In August 2024, the final value of China's imports of natural rubber including technical categories was 140,200 tons, an increase of 10.37% month-on-month and an increase of 8.57% year-on-year.
The cumulative total import volume from January to August 2024 was 1.0171 million tons, a decrease of 11.79% year-on-year.
Among them, the main source countries of imports in August were: Thailand, Cote d'Ivoire, Indonesia, and Malaysia, accounting for 48.15%, 25.51%, 12.48%, and 9.98% of the total imports respectively. Thailand ranks first.
natural latex
In August 2024, the import volume of natural latex (40011000) was 25,800 tons, a month-on-month increase of 35.69% and a year-on-year decrease of 22.59%.
From January to August 2024, the cumulative import of natural latex was 212,700 tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 24.79%.
Among them, the main source countries of imports in August were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 50.95%, 45.04%, and 3.71% of the total imports respectively. 
Natural rubber cigarette film
In August 2024, the import volume of natural rubber cigarette film (40012100) was 17,300 tons, an increase of 14.60% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 44.04%.
The cumulative total import volume from January to August 2024 was 77,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 30.44.
Its main source countries of imports in August were: Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, accounting for 65.04%, 21.56%, and 5.94% of the total imports respectively.
Mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber
In August 2024, China's imports of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures (40028000) were 258,100 tons, an increase of 1.79% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 11.13%.
The cumulative total import volume from January to August 2024 was 1.9535 million tons, a decrease of 24.93% year-on-year.
Among them, the main source countries of imports in August were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 39.74%, 38.55%, and 15.40% of the total imports respectively.
