In May 2024, Malaysia's natural rubber production was 25600 tons, an increase of 20.19 percent over the previous month's 21300 tons, and an increase of 6.22 percent compared with 24100 tons in May 2023.

In terms of the seasonal output of natural rubber in Malaysia, February was approaching the low yield period of leaf change, and the output of natural rubber decreased. After entering June, Malaysia entered the seasonal increasing season, and the output of raw materials recovered rapidly. as can be seen from the chart, the overall output of Malaysia in 2024 is relatively normal, and the trend is basically the same as that in 2023. Then in June, without the influence of other special phenological conditions, Malaysia's home-grown supply began to increase.

The import of natural rubber in May 2024 was 74600 tons.An increase of 12.5% over the previous month's 66300 tons, an increase of 22.70% over the 60800 tons in May 2023.. The main types of imported natural rubber are standard rubber and natural rubber latex. The main sources of imports are Thailand, C ô te d'Ivoire, the Philippines, Myanmar and so on. In terms of Malaysia's natural rubber imports, since reaching a high in February this year, there has been a marked decline in March and April. The main reason is that at this time, the global natural rubber production is in a seasonal reduction period, and the global supply is in a tightening trend. Malay is also inevitable, while the import volume improved slightly in May, but the overall import growth rate is relatively limited, the reason is that the main global production areas began to sporadically cut. But after all, it is in the early stages of volume, and the output is limited.

The export of natural rubber in May 2024 was 50800 tons, an increase of 6.3 percent over the previous month's 47800 tons and 37.1 percent over the 37100 tons in May 2023. In terms of exports, the overall export situation of Malaysia this year is better than that of the same period last year. Among them, the main exporting country is China, accounting for nearly 40%, followed by India, Germany and so on.

In May 2024, Malaysia's natural rubber consumption was 20600 tons, an increase of 1% over the previous month's 20400 tons and a decrease of 21% from 26200 tons in May 2023. From the perspective of consumer industry, the consumption of natural rubber latex gloves industry is still in the primary position of natural rubber consumption in Malaysia, accounting for about 50-60%, while tire and hose consumption, rubber line and other industries basically maintain about 10%.

Malaysia's overall consumption for the whole year of 2024 is basically in a state of shock, which is also low compared with last year, and has not surpassed that of last year. The overall demand is basically maintained at about 20,000 tons, and the fluctuation is limited and basically stable. Judging from its trend, Malaysia's demand is basically in a low balance. Malaysian natural rubber demand has been low for three consecutive years, and less than one year. In the absence of new demand stimulus, Malaysian natural rubber demand is expected to remain weak.image.png

The stock of natural rubber in Malaysia was 175400 tons in May 2024.Compared with 211100 tons last month, it decreased by 16.91%, and increased by 3.91% compared with 168800 tons in May 2023.Most of these inventories are basically concentrated in the hands of rubber processors, while large plantation owners have sporadic stocks.
