June 4 news, recently, Japan's two major synthetic rubber manufacturers have announced price increases decisions, which has attracted market attention.
Asahi Kasei Group pointed out in an official notice that starting from June 1 this year, the price of its butadiene rubber products will be increased by 45 yen per kilogram. Asahi Kasei explained that in addition to rising production and labor costs, global inflation and the sharp increase in logistics costs are also important factors driving price increases. The company admitted that in the current economic environment, it is difficult to absorb these additional costs internally alone.
According to Carbon Black Industry Network, another well-known synthetic rubber manufacturer, Rayon Company, has also announced a similar price increase plan. Since June 1, Rion has increased the price of a variety of its synthetic rubber products. Specifically, the prices of butadiene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber will increase by 30 yen per kilogram, polyisoprene rubber will increase by 37 yen, acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber will increase by 31 yen, and polyacrylate rubber and polybutadiene rubber will increase by 26 yen each. Rion also cited rising production and labor costs as the main reason for the price increase.
