On December 4th, recently, an innovative project led by Kone Tire Co., Ltd. -"R & D and Industrialization of New Materials for High Thermal Conductivity and High Wear Resistance Tires" was successfully established in Shandong Province's Key R & D Plan (Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project) in 2024, marking that the company's R & D strength in the field of high-end tire materials has been officially recognized.

The project went through layers of screening and fierce competition, and finally stood out with its unique technological innovation points and industrialization potential. Kone Tire joins hands with the team led by Dean He Yan of Qingdao University of Science and Technology, the team of Dean Guo Baochun of South China University of Technology, and scientific research institutions such as Ludong University to work together to break through the technical bottleneck of the tire industry. This cooperation not only indicates that China's tire manufacturing industry has made key progress in the research and development of high-end materials, but also provides strong technical support for the transformation and upgrading of the entire rubber tire industry.

According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, the tire industry, as an important pillar of the national economy, is facing two core challenges: First, how to improve the level of industrialization technology and change the current situation of serious product homogenization and low-price competition to better Adapt to the competitive needs of the international market; Second, there is an urgent need to solve common technical problems such as high thermal conductivity, low rolling resistance, and high wear resistance through technological innovation, promote the transformation of the tire manufacturing industry into a green, energy-saving, and efficient direction, and help achieve the national "double carbon" goal. This project focuses on these core issues and focuses on the research and development and industrial application of new materials for high thermal conductivity and high wear resistance tires. It aims to build a complete technological innovation and production system to fundamentally improve the comprehensive performance of tires.

After the successful implementation of the project, the new tire materials developed have achieved significant improvements in wear resistance and durability. Compared with internationally renowned tire brands, the wear mileage has increased by more than 15%, and the durability has also increased by about 20%. This project establishment not only highly recognizes Kone Tire's technological innovation capabilities, but also lays a solid technical foundation for the company's future development. At the same time, the project has effectively reduced environmental pollution during tire production and use by reducing reliance on traditional harmful materials, achieved dual improvements in product performance and environmental protection, and injected new vitality into the sustainable development of China's tire and rubber products industry.
