According to customs data, in May, China's imports of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, cigarette film, primary shape, mixed rubber, and composite rubber) were 472,800 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 16.93% and a year-on-year increase of 39.97%. From January to May, the cumulative imports were 2.7743 million tons, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 20.68%.

Technical classification Natural rubber

In May 2023, the final value of China's imports of natural rubber including technical categories was 156,400 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 11.01% and a year-on-year increase of 73.897%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2023 was 752,100 tons, an increase of 21.84% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Cote d'Ivoire, Malaysia, and Indonesia, accounting for 37.04%, 36.74%, 11.00%, and 9.91% of the total imports respectively. Thailand ranks first.

natural latex

In May 2023, the import volume of natural latex (40011000) was 19,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 48.84% and a year-on-year decrease of 46.89%.

 From January to May 2023, the cumulative import of natural latex was 189,300 tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 4.71%.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 83.78%, 12.45%, and 2.58% of the total imports respectively. Thailand is in the first place.

 Natural rubber cigarette film

In May 2023, the import volume of tobacco film (40012100) was 6,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 20.90% and a year-on-year decrease of 52.19%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2023 was 58,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 40.37%.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam, accounting for 42.80%, 26.67%, and 20.39% of the total imports respectively.

Mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber

In May 2023, China's imports of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures (40028000) were 278,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 17.17% and a year-on-year increase of 48.11%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2023 was 1.6972 million tons, an increase of 36.28% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 58.78%, 21.92%, and 11.59% of the total imports respectively.
