Analysis of China's rubber import and export data in July 2023

According to customs data, in June 2023, China's imports of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, cigarette film, primary shape, mixed rubber, and composite rubber) were 509,100 tons, an increase of 0.93% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 5.85%. From January to July, the cumulative import volume was 3.7879 million tons, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 17.87%.

Technical classification Natural rubber

In July 2023, the final value of China's imports of natural rubber including technical categories was 133,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.69% and a year-on-year increase of 39.18%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to July 2023 was 1.0239 million tons, an increase of 25.94% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in July were: Thailand, Cote d'Ivoire, Malaysia, and Indonesia, accounting for 38.71%, 31.90%, 17.30%, and 7.73% of the total imports respectively. Thailand ranks first.

natural latex

In July 2023, the import volume of natural latex (40011000) was 33,200 tons, an increase of 23.63% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 49.50%.

 From January to July 2023, the cumulative import of natural latex was 249,500 tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 27.64%.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in July were: Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, accounting for 57.08%, 41.58%, and 1.23% of the total imports respectively. Vietnam overtook Thailand and occupied the top spot.

 Natural rubber cigarette film

In July 2023, the import volume of tobacco film (40012100) was 13,400 tons, a month-on-month increase of 57.10% and a year-on-year increase of 77.00%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to July 2023 was 80,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.64%.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in July were: Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, accounting for 47.58%, 36.96%, and 11.23% of the total imports respectively.

Mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber

In July 2023, China's imports of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures (40028000) were 300,100 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 4.19% and a year-on-year increase of 6.40%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to July 2023 was 2.3119 million tons, an increase of 29.28% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in July were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 47.01%, 36.94%, and 10.30% of the total imports respectively.
