South Africa and China are both BRICS members and the first African country to sign a cooperation document with China to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative. The project is China's first sulfuric acid titanium dioxide EPC general contracting project implemented overseas. It is a strong witness to the friendly relations and common development between the two countries. It is also an important measure for central enterprises to implement the "going global" strategy.

The project includes projects such as an annual output of 80,000 tons of titanium dioxide plant, an annual output of 300,000 tons of sulfuric acid plant, auxiliary facilities, public works and front area. It uses titanium concentrate as raw material and adopts China's own sulfuric acid titanium dioxide technology with international advanced level to produce high-end rutile titanium dioxide that can be used in coatings, plastics and other fields. The project adopts Chinese standards and localized equipment and is implemented in accordance with China's project management model.

After completion, the project will become South Africa's first modern sulfuric acid titanium dioxide plant and the only titanium dioxide project in Africa. It can effectively meet South Africa's domestic demand, radiate to the African continent market, reduce foreign exchange consumption, and at the same time promote the upgrading of industrial structure and promote Employment and income generation are of great significance.
