  In recent years, China's new materials industry has entered a period of vigorous development and accelerated development, mainly reflected in three aspects. According to estimates by relevant parties, the total output value of the new materials industry from January to September this year exceeded 5 trillion yuan, maintaining double-digit growth. Second, innovation capabilities continue to improve. Establish 7 national manufacturing innovation centers in the field of new materials, build 35 key platforms for new materials in three categories, and form a relatively complete innovation support system. Breakthroughs have been made in a number of major key materials, and a number of cutting-edge technologies such as high-temperature superconducting materials and perovskite solar cell materials have emerged. Third, the strength of the company has gradually increased. There are more than 20,000 companies above the new materials scale, 1972 "little giant" companies specialized and innovative, and 248 individual champion companies in the manufacturing industry, accounting for 22% and 25% of the total respectively. A number of leading enterprises in key fields have been cultivated. The integrated development ecosystem of large and medium-sized enterprises is accelerating. The field of new materials has cultivated and formed seven national advanced manufacturing clusters, becoming an "accelerator" to promote regional economic growth.
  In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will promote the innovative development of the new materials industry in key areas, advantageous areas and innovation ecology.
