In recent years, the silicon industry in Sha County has developed vigorously, and the white carbon black production capacity has reached more than 500,000 tons, ranking first in Fujian Province. In addition, Sha County also produces more than 10 series of inorganic silicon products such as sodium silicate, silica powder, silicon carbide, and titanium dioxide, and is in a leading position in related industries.

Once upon a time, white, tiny quartz sand particles were processed and mainly sent to shoe factories as a reinforcing agent for footwear. Today, the white carbon black products produced not only meet the demand of the Chinese market, but are also exported to all parts of the world. They are widely used in the rubber industry, toothpaste abrasives, flatting agents and thickeners for coatings and inks, anti-blocking agents for pesticides, feeds and cosmetics and other fields.

After nearly 20 years of development, Gaosha Industrial Park has become one of the most concentrated white carbon black production bases in the country, forming a complete industrial chain covering raw material processing, technology research and development and product application.

At present, Sha County has initially formed a differentiated development pattern, led by hydrophobic silica of Jinsha silica, Zhengyuan Chemical and high-dispersible silica of Afu Si, and silicon chemical industry clusters dominated by precipitated silica.

Fujian Sanming Zhengyuan Chemical has built 3 sodium silicate production lines and 5 silicon dioxide production lines. It can produce 200,000 tons of sodium silicate and 150,000 tons of silicon dioxide annually, making the company an industry leader in Fujian Province. The rubber and plastic additives it produces sell well outside China. White carbon black products have also won the title of Provincial Famous Brand Products, and the "Zhengji" trademark has been named a famous trademark of Fujian Province.
