The mixing department of HEXPOL Group recently announced that it will invest in a desulfurization production line in Europe, aiming to convert cured rubber parts to an uncured state, thereby providing a raw material base for the production of new rubber parts. This move not only proves the recyclability of rubber, but also provides new solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of rubber products.

According to HEXPOL Group, the desulfurization process does not require the addition of additional chemicals, but uses mechanical forces such as shear, compression and temperature to break the cross-linking bonds of the cured rubber with the help of a specific extruder. The investment will allow Europe's HEXPOL company to produce thousands of tons of this recycled compound every year, injecting new impetus into the sustainable development of the rubber industry.
