Analysis of China's rubber import and export data in March 2024

According to customs data, in March 2024, China's imports of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, cigarette film, primary shape, mixed rubber, and composite rubber) were 484,000 tons, an increase of 39.34% month-on-month. From January to March, the cumulative imports were 1.4 million tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 18.85%.

Technical classification Natural rubber

In March 2024, the final value of China's imports of natural rubber including technical categories was 154,500 tons, a month-on-month increase of 67.9% and a year-on-year decrease of 4.47%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to March 2024 was 380,000 tons, a decrease of 9.46% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in March were: Thailand, Malaysia, Cote d'Ivoire, and Indonesia, accounting for 54.61%, 19.05%, 18.83%, and 4.64% of the total imports respectively. Thailand ranks first.

natural latex

In March 2024, the import volume of natural latex (40011000) was 40,000 tons, an increase of 39.93% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 30.95%.

 From January to March 2024, the cumulative import of natural latex was 112,400 tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 15.6%. 

Among them, the main source countries of imports in March were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 78.95%, 19.06%, and 1.99% of the total imports respectively.

 Natural rubber cigarette film

In March 2024, the import volume of tobacco film (40012100) was 8,400 tons, an increase of 71.15% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 33.94%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to March 2024 was 21,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 52.58%.     

Its main source countries of imports in March were: Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, accounting for 45.62%, 42.28%, 5.37%, and 4.44% of the total imports respectively.

Mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber

In March 2024, China's imports of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures (40028000) were 280,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 30.53% and a year-on-year decrease of 19.26%.

 The cumulative total import volume from January to March 2024 was 868,600 tons, a decrease of 19.83% year-on-year.     

Among them, the main source countries of imports in March were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 45.07%, 27.05%, and 13.18% of the total imports respectively.
