Recently, the feasibility study report of Lanzhou Petrochemical's transformation and upgrading ethylene transformation project (million-ton ethylene project) was reviewed by the Party Group Meeting of China National Petroleum Corporation, marking a key breakthrough in project advancement and creating conditions for the comprehensive advancement of the project and its implementation.

Lanzhou Petrochemical Company's transformation and upgrading ethylene renovation project is a reconstruction and expansion project. The construction site is located in the Xigu Chemical Industry Park of Lan 'Zhou City approved by the Gansu Province Government, and involves the Xigu refinery plant and chemical plant of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company. The total investment of the project is approximately 23.17 billion yuan, and the project renovation plan is divided into three parts:

1. Ethylene transformation: By shutting down the existing 240,000 tons/year ethylene plant, dismantling the cracking, quenching, compression and propylene units of the existing 460,000 tons/year ethylene plant, and building a new 1.2 million tons/year ethylene cracking + quenching + cracking gas compression + propylene machine unit +800,000 tons/year cold separation system, the cold separation system of the 460,000 tons/year ethylene plant is used to form an ethylene production system with "one head and two tails."

2. Refining transformation: After the implementation of the project, the existing crude oil processing types and processing volume in the refining system will remain unchanged. Through the adaptive transformation of 1.2 million tons/year catalytic cracking units, 3 million tons/year diesel hydrogenation units, and 1.2 million tons/year diesel hydrogenation units, etc., three existing equipment such as hydrogenation will be carried out to achieve the purpose of increasing ethylene raw materials. At the same time, new PSA units and carbon 2 recovery units will be built.

3. Chemical downstream supporting facilities: Build 7 new production units (20,000 tons/year of octene-1, 100,000 tons/year of POE, 140,000 tons/year of EVA, 450,000 tons/year of high density polyethylene, 400,000 tons/year of polypropylene, 700,000 tons/year of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, 700,000 tons/year of aromatic extraction unit), and convert the existing 170,000 tons/year of high density polyethylene unit into a 60,000 tons/year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene unit. Through the implementation of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company's transformation and upgrading ethylene transformation project, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company's refined oil output will be reduced to 530.49 Ten thousand tons/year, gasoline and diesel will decrease by 1.3907 million tons/year, and aviation fuel output will remain unchanged. At the same time, 2.0092 million tons/year of new chemical material products (including 140,000 tons/year of EVA, 100,000 tons/year of POE, 50,000 tons/year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and high-end new materials such as metallocene polyethylene and metallocene polypropylene) were added. 1.035 million tons/year), and the construction of a "million tons of new materials" production base was realized as planned.

The 1.2 million tons/year ethylene transformation project is based on the general trend of "reducing oil and increasing chemical production" and the "double carbon" goal of refining and chemical production. It coordinates the overall planning of refining and chemical production in the five provinces and regions of "Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Mongolia" at a high level., comprehensively considering the resource conditions of crude oil and ethylene raw materials in the west, focusing on the development of new energy, new materials, and new undertakings, and planning and laying out major projects for industrial transformation and development. It is also a demonstration enterprise for Lanzhou Petrochemical Company to accelerate the construction of a high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
