According to customs data, in May 2024, China's imports of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, cigarette film, primary shape, mixed rubber, and composite rubber) were 347,700 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 5.88%. From January to May, the cumulative imports were 2.1257 million tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 67.23%.

Technical classification Natural rubber

In May 2024, the final value of China's imports of natural rubber including technical categories was 116,600 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 16.54% and a year-on-year decrease of 25.43%.

The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2024 was 636,600 tons, a decrease of 15.36% year-on-year.    

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Cote d'Ivoire, Malaysia, and Indonesia, accounting for 48.38%, 24.88%, 19.10%, and 4.9% of the total imports respectively. Thailand ranks first.

natural latex

In May 2024, the import volume of natural latex (40011000) was 14,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 26.78% and a year-on-year decrease of 26.24%.

From January to May 2024, the cumulative import of natural latex was 145,600 tons, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 23.12%.

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 75.48%, 19.10%, and 4.69% of the total imports respectively.

Natural rubber cigarette film

In May 2024, the import volume of natural rubber cigarette film (40012100) was 7,800 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 6.00% and a year-on-year increase of 31.092%.

The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2024 was 37,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 35.79%.    

Its main source countries of imports in May were: Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia, accounting for 72.04%, 21.25%, and 4.21% of the total imports respectively.

Mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber

In May 2024, China's imports of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures (40028000) were 193,400 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 0.63% and a year-on-year decrease of 30.45%.

The cumulative total import volume from January to May 2024 was 1.2566 million tons, a decrease of 25.96% year-on-year.    

Among them, the main source countries of imports in May were: Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 49.41%, 21.71%, and 15.63% of the total imports respectively.
