According to customs data, in May 2024, China imported 347700 tons of natural rubber (including technical classification, latex, tobacco film, primary shape, mixed rubber, composite rubber), a decrease of 5.88% from January to May, a cumulative decrease of 67.23% compared with the same period last year.

Technical classification of natural rubber

In May 2024, the final value of China's imports of technologically classified natural rubber was 116600 tons, a decrease of 16.54% from the previous month and 25.43% from the same period last year.

From January to May 2024, total imports totaled 636600 tons, down 15.36 percent from the same period last year.

The main sources of imports in May were Thailand, C ô te d'Ivoire, Malaysia and Indonesia, accounting for 48.38%, 24.88%, 19.10% and 4.9% of the total imports, respectively. Thailand is in the top position.

Natural rubber latex

In May 2024, the import of natural rubber latex (40011000) was 14000 tons, a decrease of 26.78% from the previous month and 26.24% from the same period last year.

A total of 145600 tons of natural rubber latex were imported from January to May in 2024, a cumulative decrease of 23.12% compared with the same period last year.

The main source countries of imports in May were Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, accounting for 75.48%, 19.10% and 4.69% of the total imports, respectively.

Natural rubber smoke film

In May 2024, the import of natural rubber smoke film (40012100) was 7800 tons, a decrease of 6.00% from the previous month and an increase of 31.092% over the same period last year.

From January to May 2024, total imports totaled 37300 tons, down 35.79 percent from the same period last year.

The main sources of imports in May were Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia, accounting for 72.04%, 21.25% and 4.21% of the total imports, respectively.

A mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber

In May 2024, China imported 193400 tons of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixture (40028000), a decrease of 0.63% month-on-month and 30.45% lower than the same period last year.

From January to May 2024, total imports totaled 1.2566 million tons, down 25.96 percent from the same period last year.

Among them, the main sources of imports in May were Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, accounting for 49.41%, 21.71% and 15.63% of the total imports, respectively.
