On September 29, it was reported that Himadri Speciality Chemical, the leader in India's specialty carbon black field, is ambitiously planning to increase its share in the China carbon black market from the current 13% to a new height of about 18%. Himadri Speciality Chemical plans to expand its total carbon black production capacity to approximately 250000MTPA by the end of fiscal year 26 by expanding a new specialty carbon black production line at its existing site in West Bengal plant. Currently, the total carbon black production capacity is approximately 180000MTPA.

To achieve this goal, the company is investing approximately Rs 2.2 billion in the expansion of existing sites for the new specialty carbon black production line, more than doubling its production capacity to 1.3 billion tons per year. Choudhary said: "With this expansion, Himadri will become the world's fourth largest producer of specialty carbon black."

According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, this significant expansion of production capacity is expected to bring a significant increase in the company's profits, because special carbon black has a high output value. These new products with more superior performance parameters will be widely used in many professional fields such as fibers, semiconductor cables, engineering plastics, and inks.

In addition, as India's automobile production surges, the automotive industry's demand for tires and related materials, including carbon black, has also increased. In view of this trend, it is expected that demand for carbon black in the Indian tire industry will continue to remain strong in the next few years.
