Automechanika Buenos Aires, Argentina's international auto parts and after-sales service exhibition, is the well-known auto parts exhibition Automechanika's branch exhibition in Argentina. The automobile industry is Argentina's pillar industry, accounting for 50% of Argentina's industrial production value, of which exports to Brazil account for 40% of its total output. Cars produced in the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) countries must have at least 60% of their spare parts produced in countries in the region in order to enjoy zero-tariff travel to Mercosur countries. This agreement is beneficial to Brazil, and Brazilian auto parts products will enter the Argentine market in a large scale for a long time.

However, since the agreement will expire in June this year, Argentina intends to change its course and import auto parts products from China to replace Brazilian products based on the consideration of reducing the cost of its own automobile industry.

This has caused great anxiety in Brazil. The Brazilian government has officially invited the Argentine government to hold a meeting in Brasilia recently to explore the possibility of extending the bilateral auto parts use agreement for at least one year.

Due to the high price of domestic molds in Argentina and the long production delivery time, automobile manufacturers do not like to use local molds in Argentina.
