Pirelli receives top rating for its fight against climate change
Selected for the seventh consecutive year in the "Climate Index A list"
Milan, February 10, 2025 - For the seventh consecutive year, Pirelli has joined the ranks of global leaders in the fight against climate change, having been included in the "Climate Index A list 2024" by CDP, an international non-profit organization that collects and analyzes environmental information on more than 24,800 companies.
In the "Climate" section, Pirelli received an "A" rating (the highest score) based on its decarbonization strategy, effectiveness in reducing emissions and climate risks, developing a low-carbon emissions economy, completeness and transparency of the information provided, and the best practices it has adopted in terms of environmental impact.
This recognition by CDP confirms Pirelli's commitment to achieve its long-term goal of net zero emissions by 2040, a target that has been confirmed by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) as the greatest challenge facing tire manufacturers worldwide.
CDP aims to help companies and governments reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect water resources and forests by collecting data related to environmental impacts, risks and opportunities and independently evaluating the methodologies used to calculate scores.
The data will be published by companies through the CDP platform in 2024 at the request of more than 700 investors with more than $140 trillion in assets.
