New energy tire industry has bright prospects but many challenges
As the hottest topic in the world, the concept of new energy has been full of doubts and ridicule since its birth. From the initial disdain to the governments of various countries taking great efforts, to the current withdrawal, new energy vehicles are like an opera version of the soul-stirring. And the new energy tires attached to new energy vehicles are about to face the embarrassing situation of skin without hair.
The market is flat, but tire companies still have high hopes
In recent years, both manufacturers and the market are very optimistic about the development of new energy tires, especially in the field of original equipment, more and more new energy models are equipped with new energy tires. The entire industry believes that new energy tires will definitely be popular, and selling new energy tires now is a good opportunity to make money. However, many tire shop owners are not very smooth when promoting new energy tires. Although new energy vehicles are selling very well, many new energy vehicles will choose high-performance ordinary tires. Few people choose new energy special tires. On the one hand, new energy special tires have gone into the detour of over-emphasizing fuel saving and electricity saving, while ignoring other performance. On the other hand, new energy tires are not as attractive as high-performance tires in publicity. The most important thing is that consumers have not experienced the advantages of new energy tires, but are discouraged by the high price.
New energy has characteristics, but the perception is not strong
The development of new energy vehicles has prompted tire companies to develop higher-quality tires (hereinafter referred to as: EV tires) to adapt to new energy vehicles. First, electric vehicles require larger battery packs, so the overall weight of new energy vehicles will be relatively large, which means that tires need to have greater load-bearing capacity, pressure resistance and wear resistance. Secondly, electric vehicles have greater torque and faster acceleration, requiring tires to have stronger grip. Third, the problem of silence. Since new energy vehicles have no engine, car owners cannot hear the sound of the engine in the car, and the tire noise can be clearly transmitted to the car, which puts higher requirements on the quietness of EV tires.
Finally, in order to improve the endurance of new energy vehicles, the rolling resistance of tires needs to be lower and lighter. But in fact, these tire performances are also mostly required for high-performance tires or high-end tires. High-performance/high-end vehicles require strong grip, high load-bearing capacity, quiet and comfortable, and low rolling rent. Therefore, the current new energy tires are not only used exclusively for new energy vehicles, but also as representatives of high-end tires. Whether it is a gasoline car or an electric car, it is an unparalleled tire.
