Sanghi, Founder and Managing Director of JS Fourwheel Motors (P) Limited Nikunj, didn’t reluctantly enter the industry as a car dealer. Coincidentally, he is currently one of the top 10 dealers of Mahindra Mahindra owning 5-3S in Rajasthan Showroom and 1 3S factory of Hero MotoCorp.

At a cost of Rs 25 JS crore Fourwheel Motors is striving to add 5-3SSS plants by 2020, taking its total number of dealerships to 11 homes and generating revenues of Rs 50 crore. The initial target was to achieve sales of Rs 50 billion by 2016 but unfortunately it did not materialize. NCR banned diesel vehicles for more than 10 years and the Supreme Court banned the registration of diesel vehicles above 2,000cc in the capital for eight months to curb pollution, affect sales and erode the company’s profits. As a result, profits have fallen by 40% in the last two years and sales have plummeted from 35% starting Rs billion.

But now that these court orders have been dismissed, Sanghi is optimistic that JS Fourwheel will meet its targets every year in 2020. Currently, the dealer business is booming.

Relying on fatherly kindness

Sanghi joined DCM as a management trainee in 1977 and after completing his LLB from Delhi University, he trained as a company secretary at DCM Delhi for seven years.

His father was the CEO of Mahindra dealership in Jaipur, where Tata Motors and Mahindra were under the same roof. His father lost his eyesight due to diabetes.

Sanghi had to come from Delhi to take care of him and could not return to DCM to perform his duties. Meanwhile, his father flew to the US for treatment.

As a result, the dealership owner asked him to follow in his father’s footsteps and become the CEO of the showroom.

Sanch said, “It was like Hobson’s choice. I had no choice but to agree because I was my parents’ only son. The incident happened in 1982, but a year later, my father was treated in the US. But I lost my sight forever.

He was disappointed with his career because he did not like the style. After experiencing corporate life, he submitted his dissertation and started working in an organization in Jaipur. He’s already with DCM, and officials have had conversations where they’re willing to put him back in a higher position than he was before.

When Mahindra came to know about the situation, the company authorities demanded urgent discussions to resolve the issue. Mumbai.

A spiritual struggle

Sanjay had a feeling in his mind that they might give him a job in the company. But MM asked him to become a dealer in the company. Sanjay refuses, claiming that he is not fit for the job and doesn’t have the necessary funds for the job.

But MM was not ready to let him go and reiterated that the offer was not for him. For him, it was because he and his father ran 35 companies to 40 years of dealerships.
