Raj Banerji replaces Sunam Sarkar as Apollo Tyres’ CFO
NEW DELHI: Raj Banerji has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Apollo Tires Ltd. He succeeds Sunam Sarkar, who was recently reappointed as president and chief commercial officer (Sunam Sarkar). The Indian tire manufacturer said in a press release:
Commenting on the appointment, Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Chairman, Apollo Tires, said: “While providing additional impetus to this growth, it will also contribute to the overall financial health and stability of the organization.”
Raj’s last job was as CFO of the refining business of one of India’s largest private companies. Prior to that, he spent 20 2000s at BP (formerly BP), where he held various leadership roles in oil exploration, commodities trading, marketing and refining.
Raj has 24 years of experience in Europe handling key functions such as investor relations, corporate finance, planning and performance management, and risk management.
He will report to nerajj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Commenting on his appointment, Raj Banerji, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Apollo Tyres Limited, said: “I am joining a large organization at a turning point and am poised to expand on a global platform in an opportunity-rich environment.
