Volkswagen issue will not affect supplies, says Motherson Sumi Systems
NEW DELHI: Auto component maker Motherson Sumi Systems today told Volkswagen that (VW) supplies would not be affected. This is despite the fact that the German automotive giant is facing up to 180 questions in the United States for his use of equipment to falsify emissions data Fined $ 100 million.

He said, “The emission issue is an engine-related issue. We don’t offer any engine parts to the public, which is different from the parts recalled by the public due to defects.”
He also said that MSSL’s investment in the Volkswagen brand as of 2015 was only 12% of the net sales of Rs. 34, 490.31 crore for the financial year March 31, 2015
21% of MSSL’s net sales were in Volkswagen Group Audi, 4% in Porsche and 9% in seats.
Gauba said the company has a five-to six-year contract with Volkswagen for the supply of various models and that it was “foolish” to think that these products would be affected by the crisis in Germany. “I deeply apologize for betraying the trust of our customers and the public,” he said Sunday, and ordered an external investigation into the matter.
Today, the company announced plans to “allocate approximately €6.51 billion in gifts for necessary service measures and other efforts to restore customer confidence.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Friday, Volkswagen was accused of installing illegal software to cheat diesel emissions tests. The U.S. government ordered VW to recall 482,000 Volkswagen and Audi brand vehicles built after 2009.
