Shriya Chemicals Pvt Ltd proposes to expand its Agricultural Scale Chemical Intermediates and Pharmaceutical Intermediates plant at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.

The expected cost of the proposed modernization and expansion project is Rs. 715.17 crore, the company said while submitting the environmental clearance report to the Ministry of Environment and Forests.

The company produces 65 MTPM 2 hydroxyquinoline. The proposed products are N-Methylmorpholine (15MT), 4-Methoxyacetophenone (8MT), 4-Methylacetophenone (7MT), Hexaconazole (15MT), Methomyl (5MT), Quinone 2, 62 Sulfonate (2MT).

Workshops and mechanical equipment involved in the production process mainly include stainless steel reactors, HDPE reactors, fractionation columns, centrifuges, thermal fluid heaters, cooling towers, ejectors, vacuum pumps, FBDs, and so on. The technology and production process mainly includes filtration, reaction, distillation and so on.

The greenfield area is 1,260 square meters, accounting for 33% of the total site area.

According to the company, baseline data is being collected for the proposed project and a study area with a radius of 10 kilometers is being selected.

As per the guidance of the Ministry of Environment, the CPMO has selected five sampling stations in the study area on the basis of prevailing wind direction, wind direction, side wind direction, rural representation and urban representation.

Parameters such as PM2.5, PM10, SO2 and NO2 were analyzed twice a week, with a total study period of 3 months per station.
