Car selection in January| Comparing the three companies, we finally chose the BMW 5 Series as the dowry
My cousin gets married at the end of the year, and my aunt plans to marry her cousin with a car. She has gone to see the car before (if you are unclear, please see my previous post) and recently went for a test drive. After comprehensive consideration, she has already paid for the car.
Today’s post mainly tells you why we finally bought the BMW 5 Series in the 56E.
In fact, the most important thing is noise isolation, driving comfort, and price.
Because this car was bought for family use, there are no high requirements for extreme speed, 100-kilometer acceleration, etc. The actual test drive of the BMW 5 Series provides the best comfort in all aspects.
Closing the window also isolates the engine noise very thoroughly. You can’t hear the sound at idle speed. The silence under the medium and small throttle is very good. The isolation of wind noise and tire noise at high speed is also better than that of the other two.
In terms of hardware specifications, the texture and handling of the chassis are basically equal and slightly different among the three brands.
The official definition of the Audi A6L is multi-link at the front and rear. The actual front suspension is similar to a double yoke. The material is aluminum alloy and has a steel full-frame subframe. The rear suspension is five-link, and the lower swing arm is aluminum alloy. The galvanized iron bracket on the upper swing arm.
The front suspension of the Mercedes-Benz E is a multi-link, which is somewhat similar to a double wishbone structure, but the lower swing arm is made of two aluminum alloy materials. The subframe is a full-frame structure of double-layer stamped steel plates, and the rear suspension is also a multi-link. The three control arms above the five links are made of aluminum alloy, and the two control arms below are made of single-layer stamped steel plates.
The BMW 5 Series has a front suspension and a double fork arm and a rear suspension and a multi-link link. The two lower control arms, steering rods, steering knuckles and spring strut bases of the front suspension are all made of aluminum alloy materials. There is an H-shaped subframe. It is also made of all-aluminum alloy. The rear suspension is a five-link link, only one control arm is made of aluminum alloy, the rest are made of steel, and the link of the control arm is made of PP+GF engineering plastic.
Overall, the three of them are basically evenly matched in structure, but there are some differences in their specific experiences.
The BMW 5 Series chassis handles vibration very gently, and it performs very well in eliminating most of the vibration input on the road when passing through bumpy roads. The suspension handles both large amplitudes at low frequencies and small amplitudes at high frequencies well. The chassis has a very good texture, with sufficient advantages in support and sound insulation. After passing through some pits, you wouldn’t feel it if you didn’t pay attention. When crossing speed bumps and on some relatively bad roads, the transmission of vibration is obviously isolated, and the fierce driving of cornering can also be held.
Finally, there is the price. This is the price we talked about with the sales company for the BMW 5 Series 525.
