Introduction to the BMW 5 Series Brush Hidden Features

First of all, what is the car hiding function?
As the name implies, it is some of the default functions hidden by the manufacturer in the driving computer when the car leaves the factory. When the car is in mass production, because the manufacturer takes into account some cost requirements, it carries out “modular” mass production of the car, and when the vehicle is assembled and leaves the factory in the later stage, it takes into account the product positioning or price requirements of the specific vehicle. It is only in some functions that there are high, medium and low configuration. Therefore, before a car leaves the factory, the manufacturer has preset a lot of hidden functions in the driving computer, and the difference between the high, medium and low configuration of specific vehicles is to a large extent the number of hidden functions activated by their driving computer. Of course, the hidden function caused by the hardware of the vehicle is excluded.

What are the benefits of the hidden brush function?
Obviously, the function of the vehicle can be greatly improved through the brush concealment function. For example, the low-configuration Mercedes-Benz can activate the carplay function by brushing hidden, which we all know that it is a very practical function that you can put the app on the iPhone on the car’s central control screen; Volkswagen can change the number of times to gently turn on the steering signal and turn off the automatic start and stop function by brushing hidden, so as to improve driving comfort. Of course, there are many such examples, I will not repeat them here, in short, the brush hide function makes our cars smarter and more interesting!

What are the hidden functions of the BMW 5-Series Brush?
1. Memory start and stop
After the brush is successful, the car will remember whether the start-stop system was turned on or off before the last flameout. For example, if it is closed before you get out of the car, the next time you get on and start the car, it will not be turned on by default every time.

2. The sound of car lock
The BMW didn’t react much when it was locked. After locking the car, I am often not sure whether the car is locked or not. I turn back and pull the door to make sure it is locked before I leave.
After activation, close all the doors, press the unlock button, the vehicle has a sound prompt, the lock car rings once, and the unlock rings twice.
Note: (1) if there is no sound after activation, the vehicle setting should be set in the central control of the mainframe-“tone when unlocked / unlocked” is checked in the door / key. (2) BMW can lock the car with the keys in the car when the door is closed.

3. Air conditioning state memory
After the brush is successful, in the same way as the memory start and stop, the car remembers the state of the air conditioner before the last flameout, if it is turned on before the flameout, it will be turned on automatically the next time the car starts, and the temperature, wind speed and cycle mode will be the same as before the flameout.

4. Instrument 330 yards
After successful brushing, the maximum scale of the speedometer on the instrument can be set to 330 yards, or the original 260 mph can be restored.

5. The dashboard shows the digital speed
After activation, the digital speed is displayed on the dashboard speedometer, which makes it more convenient and accurate to view the current vehicle speed.

6. Appearance blue witch style
After brushing successfully, the blue witch style mode can be switched in the setting instrument mode, and the car owner can adjust the mode through the ECOPRO, SPORT and COMFORT buttons on the left side of the gear, you can see the blue witch style of the instrument in different modes, making the instrument more distinctive.

7. Instrument LOGO setting
After activation, the vehicle model LOGO can be displayed on the instrument, such as: do not display (original car status), display MM50d, display MM50i

8. Instrument sport mode style
After brushing successfully, you can set the sport style mode in the instrument mode, which can be divided into two modes: silver gray and orange.

9. Maximum instantaneous fuel consumption scale of ECO mode
After activation, the maximum scale value of instantaneous fuel consumption on the instrument in ECO mode can be set to 30.

10. Duration of seat belt alarm
Can adjust the duration of the alarm sound when not wearing a seat belt (silent, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds).

11. Boot animation
The host can be set to display a variety of animations during boot, such as: no boot animation (original car state), M boot animation mode 1, M boot animation mode 2, Connected Drive boot animation, BMWi boot animation, ALINA boot animation, Rolls-Royce boot animation.

12. Cancel the boot statement
After the brush is successful, turn off the safe driving reminder when starting up, and the prompt interface will no longer be displayed when starting up, so there is no need to manually click OK each time.

13. The mainframe displays the compass
After successful brushing, the compass can be displayed on the mainframe, which is convenient to know the current orientation of the vehicle at any time.

14. The main engine displays engine power and torque
After activation, the engine power and torque diagram can be displayed in the mainframe.

15. Brightness adjustment of reversing image
After successful brushing, you can manually adjust the brightness of the reversing image according to the needs of driving habits. Hang the reverse gear, and then move the circular knob on the right side of the gear to enter the reversing image setting interface. After selecting the brightness option, you will jump out of the brightness level, and you can turn the big knob to adjust the brightness level.

16. Reversing display trailer hook
After successful brushing, the trailer sign can be displayed when reversing, and it can be manually selected or not displayed in the central control.
Note: vehicles with 360 panoramic view can brush out the reversing hook option, but cannot be checked (that is, this function is not available). Vehicles with 360 panoramic view do not need to use this function.

17. Activate the Android screen function.
After the brush is successful, the interface of the Android phone can be wirelessly displayed on the central control host screen.
Connection method: turn on the media / radio in the host computer-Screen Mirroring— add a device to connect the mobile phone, and the wireless screen function in the phone settings can be paired with the car screen to realize the screen function.

18. Video can be played in driving.
After activation, the restrictions on playing video while driving can be lifted, that is, the video can also be played while driving.
After activation, video playback can be played in the following ways:
(1) plug in the USB disk that downloads the offline video in advance, and play the video on USB (MP4,AVI,MKV format is supported).
(2) DVD playback.
(3) Android screen play (you need to activate the Android screen feature to use it).

19. Activate the atmosphere lamp
Activate the atmosphere lamp function of the original car, you can activate the atmosphere lamp function of the original car without atmosphere lights, or increase the original car with 6-color atmosphere lights to 11 colors.
Note: the “activate atmosphere lamp” function is to activate the interface of the original factory to control the color and brightness of the atmosphere lamp. After activation, the relevant hardware of the atmosphere lamp needs to be installed before it can be used normally.

20. Custom atmosphere lamp color
After successful brushing,”Custom Atmosphere Light” redefines the eleventh color (lavender-white outline) option in the interior lighting of the host. The owner can customize the colors of the upper, middle and lower parts of the vehicle. After activation, select the host The eleventh color option for interior lighting can present the defined colors of the upper, middle and lower parts of the vehicle.
Note: The original car does not have atmosphere lights or only has 6 colors. You need to brush the “Activate Atmosphere Light” function to 11 colors before you can use this function.

21. Open the door and raise the window with one click
After activation, when the door is opened, pulling up the window close button can still lift the window with one click, and the door opening and closing will not stop.

22. Reverse gear right rearview mirror automatically rolls down
After successful brushing, you can set the right rear view mirror to flip down when reversing. When putting in reverse gear, the right rear view mirror will automatically flip down to the set angle, making it convenient for drivers of different heights to observe the ground conditions.

23. Lock the car and fold the rearview mirror
The rear view mirror will automatically fold when the rear lock is activated, and will automatically open when the rear lock is unlocked.

24. Automatic headlight sensitivity setting
The sensitivity of the headlight to ambient light intensity can be adjusted manually.

25. Activate fragrance anions
Activate the original car fragrance and negative ion function. After activation, two options: fragrance and air quality will appear in the vehicle settings/temperature comfort.
Note: After this function is activated, you need to install hardware before it can be used

26. Brake suddenly and high-level brake light flashes
After successful brushing, when the vehicle brakes sharply at a speed above 75km/h, the high-level brake light can be set to a flash state, which can serve as a good warning to the vehicle behind and improve the safety of the vehicle during driving.
(Because there is no nearby section where I can easily run to 75km/h, safety is important, so I don’t want to show it)

Finally, how to realize the brush hiding function?
1. Use the ENET or IKM special reading cable for BMW cars to cooperate with the laptop to download the brush software and read the functional program in the driving computer to modify the corresponding code data by connecting it to remove the hidden functional restrictions of the original car and realize the brush hidden function. This is suitable for riders who have strong hands-on skills and understand the computer to change data, because when changing data, you must pay attention to whether the options are entered incorrectly during the operation.

2. Use the Bluetooth OBD tool to achieve this. This tool is a connection tool. After a rider purchases the OBD tool, he connects with his mobile phone through Bluetooth. When the mobile phone purchases the corresponding swipe hidden function on the Mini programs, the cloud will send the code to the mobile phone, and the mobile phone transmits it to the car through the OBD tool connected to Bluetooth to activate the corresponding function program, thereby realizing the swipe hidden function. The codes in the Mini programs are the results of multiple tests and inspections by professionals on different models, so they are safe and stable.
Simply put, the engineer encapsulates the hidden function program data of the original car into a software package so that the car owner can connect to the OBD device through Bluetooth on his mobile phone, and then the car owner can directly check the corresponding hidden function brush on or off according to his own needs on his mobile phone.
