Lidar is a sensor used for laser three-dimensional scanning in the autonomous driving and robot industries, and is also one of the most important components in unmanned vehicles. With the rapid growth of autonomous driving in recent years, there has been a surge in demand for lidar and has greatly affected the development of unmanned vehicles. Hesai Technology focuses on the development of laser sensing, and its current products include multiple series of laser sensors in the field of driverless driving. Hesai Technology’s products have a wide range of applications, and their precision, resolution, anti-interference performance and reliability are at the industry-leading level.
The self-driving industry is very sharp, and there is a very strong demand for radar. It can liberate people from the boring driving process, save time, and have high technical barriers. It just happens that the team has accumulated valuable experience in laser technology and parts and is often good at it. In the technical field, I decided to enter the laser power industry.
Because the product technology is complex, it is often rare for companies that are making laser products and getting orders. There is only one country company that really delivers goods in quantity, and they monopolize the global market. The three founders of Hesai Technology are now that although this company has a large market share, its technology is not so leading. Since the market is growing so fast and monopoly is not an unbreakable competitor, this makes Hesai Technology determined to make a product and have high confidence in it.
Not long after, Wo Technology launched the Pandar40 product line, the company is proud of, in 17 years, breaking the limit of uniform distribution of traditional laser radars. The Pandar40 used the method of uneven distribution of lines to allow each line to play its role. To the extreme, it allows it to obtain sufficiently precise scanning results from 50 meters away, and the resolution of 25 lines near the range of 0° reaches 0.33°, which can fully capture the nodal characteristics of distant bodies during travel. With the release of the Pandar40 product line, Rangho Technology has received intentions from nearly 100 autonomous driving companies around the world to surpass Taiwan.
After several years of in-depth research and development, Hesai Technology has launched the Pandar series, XT series, QT series, and multiple AT128 lidar products. Through several rounds of financing from its investors Xiaomi, Meituan, Bosch Venture Capital, and Baidu. Today, Ho Technology’s customers include the world’s mainstream autonomous driving companies and top car manufacturers, first-level suppliers, robot companies, etc., covering 40 countries and more than 90 cities around the world.

Faced with rapid market growth, Hesai Technology is building a Maxwell Intelligent Manufacturing Center with an annual production capacity of more than one million units. It is expected to be fully put into operation in 2022. After completion, it will undertake functional module tasks such as laser radar research and development, production, and vehicle specification testing, helping the future development of the unmanned vehicle intelligent driving industry.
