“2002 does not come from 2002.”

What you have in front of you now is the world’s first mass-produced car with a turbine. At the same time, it is also the ancestor of the three series, it is 2002Turbo. In 1973, the car could explode 170 horsepower and accelerate in 6.9 seconds, second only to Porsche’s 911 at the time. At the same time, production of nearly 1700 vehicles has led to a sharp rise in its collection price. Only BMW enthusiasts, many classic car collectors around the world have chosen 2002Turbo as one of their collections.

“this is a car that should have disappeared.”

This strange-looking car comes from 1996 and is called EV1, which is an electric car. Although electric cars have become a trend nowadays, the car ended in failure at that time. Its birth is also related to the California government’s zero-emission policy in 1990: the seven leading automakers in the United States at that time would have their California dealership cancelled if they introduced enough zero-release models in 2001. In this way, EV1 was born, but finally greeted EV1, but a funeral. When the early EV1 was launched by the leasing party, the feedback from the first batch of consumers was quite good, but at a later stage, when the second EV1 was about to enter the market, it coincided with the boycott of this policy by the enterprise federation affected by zero-emission regulations, and there was no lack of support from oil companies and the government. Eventually, EV1 was abandoned and scrapped by recycling. A total of 1171EV1 were produced, and most of them “died” at the funeral, making the remaining EV1 extremely rare.

“A dream work from.”

What do you think of when you see these two sports cars? Classic game Outrun? Miami Vice: The Game? Or the pictures on childhood calendars and posters? Ferrari Testarossa and Lamborghini Countach are the most representative sports cars in the 1980s. Countless celebrities use them as their cars, and countless movies have appeared in them. Among them, the first production is close to 10,000, and then it has a long life cycle of 16 years. In my mind, a car should not run fast, and bold design is also necessary, but today’s running design is still much more restrained than the year of “dare to love and hate.” the intervention of laws and regulations keeps some planning language from disappearing or changing. as a result, the elements of jump and high rearview are only left.

“since it is the treasure house of automobile culture, motorsport must not be absent.”

Motor racing can be said to be the most passionate part of automotive culture, countless drivers have been challenging the limits, manufacturers are also constantly upgrading their racing products, but also affecting the modification culture, more and more enthusiasts begin to move their cars closer to the direction of racing, and some enthusiasts copy classic racing flowers, which can be regarded as a tribute. In the museum, there are also several racing cars, among which the attraction should be this Taiwan Ling LancerEvolutionIII. This one, painted from Tommy Makinen’s chariot in the 1996 Catalan Rally, finished fifth at 4:16:12, while the then Subaru 555 team Colin McRae. Although the probability of this car is the original on the track that year, it is still very good as a whole.

“there is no doubt about the treasure of the town hall.”

The 300SL, a mass-produced sports car built by Mercedes-Benz based on the W194, is one of 1400 cars produced in three years. In the process of building, a large number of luxury equipment has also been added to the car, of course, the price is also very expensive, up to 29000 marks, can buy nearly ten Volkswagen Beetles. Back today, a 300SL has sold for more than $1.5 million on the auction website. 300SL is undoubtedly one of the most solitary runners in the world, and its gull wing design is amazing until today, and SLS later paid homage to this product. Although there are other models with gull wing door design, such as the DMC12, they are still far behind in terms of craftsmanship and quality. In 1999, it won the title of the most sports car of the century.

“the beginning of a streamlined body.”

On the first floor of the Shanghai Automobile Museum, there is also a theme exhibition area, where the theme is streamlined car design, and the back screen scrolls a video of the wind tunnel test. What is shown next to the screen is the first streamlined car, the Chrysler airstream of 1934, which changed the most basic model of the car. This model did not sell well, far less than other Chrysler models in the same period, car historians thought it was too novel to be accepted, and there were a lot of problems in production capacity and production at that time, so from a marketing point of view, Chrysler Gas was not very successful.

In addition, the Shanghai Automobile Museum has many other exhibits, many of which are well-known models, which will not be introduced here. In short, this is a very suitable place for car lovers to visit, it shortens the distance between people and car culture, but also brings an unparalleled feast for enthusiasts in China, it is really worth going to.
