As the weather gets warmer and the temperature continues to rise, it seems that summer has entered ahead of schedule. The highest outdoor temperature in Beijing has reached 28 degrees recently. As the sun shines, the sultry inside the car is obviously felt when using cars during the day. From time to time, air conditioning is needed for cooling. Since I picked up the car in late 2019, I have basically cleaned or replaced the air conditioning filter elements of the vehicle in the spring and autumn, and deodorized and disinfected the pipes. This is also because summer and winter are the seasons when air conditioners in the car are frequently used. If the air conditioner is used incorrectly for a long time or if it is used for a long time, mold will inevitably form in the pipes. This is also the source of peculiar smell, which will affect the comfort of the car. At the same time, if the air quality in the relatively enclosed compartment space is poor, It will have a great impact on the health of the car users, so it is necessary to clean the air conditioning pipes regularly. Here is my process of sterilization and deodorization in the car.
When I carried out the construction myself, I chose to use air-conditioning foam germicidal deodorant with aerosol components. I used the air conditioner to suck the germicidal agent into the air conditioner air inlet and discharge it out from the air outlet. Through internal circulation, the gas was circulated back and forth in the air-conditioning pipeline for a period of time, thereby killing the mold attached to the pipeline and eliminating the generation of odors.

The internal piping of the air outlet is the most prone place to ash, and can be cleaned with targeted bactericides before construction.

Continue to spray in disinfectant and deodorant.

Set the interior air conditioner to refrigeration, turn on AC, adjust to internal circulation mode, and select the maximum air volume.

Toukai’s air conditioner air inlet is located under the glove box on the passenger side. The deodorization disinfectant is placed on the floor, with the nozzle facing the air inlet.

The fungicide nozzle locks in continuous spray mode.

At this time, close the windows and doors, keep the vehicle idle, and wait outside the vehicle for 5 minutes in the air conditioning working mode so that the spray aerosol can fully take effect and achieve the purpose of sterilization and deodorization.

Later, set the air conditioner to heating, turn off the internal circulation, and select the maximum air volume. Now the outdoor temperature is also quite high, so you can use hot air to dry the air conditioning pipes.

After all, germicides and deodorants are chemicals. After disinfection, they can ventilate and disperse the smell of vehicles.
In the end: The reason why mold forms in air conditioning pipelines is usually in summer. When we use air conditioners for refrigeration, the internal environment of the air conditioning pipelines is relatively humid, and stains such as dust attached to the inside of the pipelines will become mildewed over time. In order to alleviate the formation of mold in the air conditioning pipeline, we need to use the air conditioner in the car correctly in the summer. It is recommended that you turn off the AC switch of the air conditioner before arriving at the destination, change the circulation mode from internal circulation to external circulation, turn on a large air volume, and use the outside of the car. The hot air dries the moisture in the air conditioning pipeline, which can alleviate the generation of mold to a certain extent.
