I haven’t posted a post in the past three years. In my spare time, I will post my own stickers in the hope of helping riders who encounter the same problem At 1.6 Yijun in March 2011, the engine occasionally shook abnormally in recent times. Until a few days ago, a large amount of shaking occurred, and the engine fault light was often on. Wanchebao detected that there was a fire in cylinder 3. After flameout, I pulled out the ignition coil with my own tool and found that there was a lot of oil in the spark plug opening. Careful observation confirmed that oil was leaking from the spark plug opening of the cylinder head. The cause of the failure was found, and the professional repair shop was contacted. The solution was to open the cover and replace the sealing ring. However, the EA111 engine also needs to be disassembled to open the cylinder head. The cost of labor and sealing materials to open the side cover is not low. It is recommended to replace the timing chain kit together. After this preparation process, the price is close to 2,000 yuan. When I checked relevant information online, I found that there is a no-opening cylinder sealing treatment solution. It is simple to operate and low cost. It is just suitable for mine. The outer periphery of the cylinder head is dry and only the spark plug opening seal ring ages and leaks oil. Decisively place an order and start it yourself as soon as the goods arrive.

Wanchhebao Diagnosis

The ignition coil is saturated with oil, which is the cause of the fire.

A lot of oil on the bottom visible to the naked eye

Paper towel sucks oil out of the spark plug hole

Sealing aluminum ring, installation tool and special high-temperature sealing glue

Tool with scale marks

Self-made ignition coil puller using welding rod

Remove everything

It took more than two years to use 30,000 kilometers of double iridium gold spark plugs

First use an alcohol cotton swab to clean the ignition coil and spark plug seal ring

Seal the aluminum sleeve and apply glue after it is inserted into the tool

This is after it’s finished.

Also apply the sealing position evenly

The glue is tight, tap it with a glue hammer, and insert it until the tool scale line is flush with the cover opening

Pull up the tool and clean up the residual glue

For comparison, the left side is processed

It took nearly two hours to handle it very carefully, and the spark plugs were also completely removed, cleaned and reinstalled.

It is completed after putting it back in the original way. Let it sit for a day until the glue dries and sets before loading it into the car.

After running for 140 kilometers for two days, the shaking appeared again

Remove it and check that the spark plug mouth is clean and there is no leakage. Change the ignition coil and make a diagnosis to confirm that the ignition coil is hung.

Thinking that since they were all aging and soaked in engine oil, I simply replaced the entire set of ignition coils and delivered them the next day after ordering on the e-commerce platform. On the left side of the picture, the original car is removed, and on the right side is the suitable NGK U5002

Put on the whole set, so that there are three spare ones

Take apart the bad one and take a look. The aging high-voltage head insulating rubber sleeve has poor elasticity and will crack when pinched

Parking in situ and blasting test, no shaking at all, OK

It was removed on June 12 and inspected to be clean and refreshing
