About a year later, there was also a switch problem with the door lock of the right rear door. Last year’s post [Octavia 1.6 DIY 26 The driving side door lock cannot be opened inside and outside, the lock block is disassembled]
Last year, the driving side door lock was bought with a new lock because we didn’t know the cause of the failure. The cause of the failure was found through the last disassembly, so I won’t buy a new one this time. The lock block will be disassembled and repaired before being used.

After the door lock is unlocked, pull it directly. It cannot be opened or opened inside. When this happens, try to find something to replace it. When it cannot be opened or opened under normal operation, you can push and pull the door a few times while pushing the door hard. The door lock mechanism inside will return to position with a high probability, and the door can be opened smoothly for maintenance. If it still doesn’t open, it’s in trouble.

A bolt on the horn

Just pry it out.

2 bolts

Interior trim panel removed,

Remove the pin between the glass and the elevator and tap it directly in.

Hang the glass on it

Since the rear door lock is far away from the horn hole, the lock cannot be removed through the horn hole, so the inner panel can only be removed. Use a rotating head to knock off the 6.4MM rivet, and use a 9MM rotating head

As the years go on, the steel plates become a little rusty. Handle it later.

Remove the door lock core decorative cover. There is a bolt inside, screw it out with a T20. I couldn’t see this clearly, so I searched for it for most of the day.

Lock block removal

The yellow part of the buffer block is rotten, and this place will not affect the unlocking.

The main reason is that the buffer block in this picture is rotten, which makes the door unable to open.

Use a rubber block to cut a buffer and replace it. The size is 15*7.5*4

Insert the original buffer block groove.

Install locking block, 2 fixing screws

Hang on the drawstring and the lock block is installed.

Treat it with anti-rust paint and sealant

To install the steel plate lining, since the original hole was very large, 6.4-specification rivets were needed. I don’t have such a rivet gun, so I can also use M6 bolts to fix it.

Done, opening normal.
