Car owners who are older or often travel on bad roads should also check the rubber sleeves of swing arms and tie rods from time to time in addition to replacing oil. Most of the symptoms of aging of rubber sleeves are cracks, defects, fractures, etc. The vehicle is characterized by abnormal noise on bumpy road conditions, abnormal four-wheel positioning, reduced driving comfort, and even safety accidents.
Most vehicle suspension rubber sleeves will have a service life of more than 5 years, and those that have been used for 8 years are also common. But ah, but, there’s a turning point here. Vehicles that are often excluded from vehicles, coastal environments, and do not take ordinary roads will shorten the life of rubber sleeves to varying degrees due to their use and use environment. There are generally three ways to deal with what to do if the rubber sleeve is damaged: one is to ignore it and play with it as long as it doesn’t die. This kind of countermeasure is highly recommended. The second is that I am a big businessman and I am willful. I replace the assembly and original car parts. It doesn’t matter if I spend money, just want the original one. The third is to replace similar products adapted by the original factory or regular manufacturer, which is suitable for groups who spend their money on the cutting edge.
Below, I use a photo of the old Solanto to explain what the lower rubber sleeve is and how to replace it.

The front hem suspension arm of the double fork arm structure, and the front suspension of the new cable is a McPherson structure.

The damaged rubber sleeve has been removed with a press

Apply a thin layer of grease to the new rubber sleeve

The press applies pressure evenly to restore the rubber sleeve without damage.

Both rubber sleeves have been replaced and repaired

Rear tooth pack (rear differential) oil seal replacement

New oil seal installed
A few more words, replacing the rubber sleeve is much lower than replacing the assembly, but the labor cost of replacing the rubber sleeve will be higher than that of replacing the assembly.
If you buy rubber sleeves, you must not be greedy for cheap prices, especially the new materials promoted by some merchants. I think it is more practical to use original parts.
Changing the rubber sleeve requires special tools, which may not be available in every repair shop. If you see that the repair shop uses a sledgehammer to remove the rubber sleeve, you can quietly turn your head and walk away.
Not every component has a separate supply of rubber sleeves. Some components do not provide rubber sleeves, and only the assembly can be replaced.
