Tiguan has collapsed a bit in the past six months, mainly due to the following three aspects
1 The chassis is abnormal. The creaking sound over the deceleration barrier is even worse in winter. The preliminary judgment is that the rubber sleeve of the lower hem arm is broken. This lower hem arm has been used for 6 years and 70,000 kilometers, commuting and driving on normal roads.
2. The carpet in the co-driver’s position often has water traces and mold. At first, it was suspected that it was air conditioner water leakage. But it rained outside a few days ago, and the co-pilot’s a-pillar inside leaked like a faucet, so we knew that there was a problem with the skylight water pipes.
3 Even if the water temperature is slightly less than 90 degrees, the electronic fan will also run wildly. The sound is particularly loud and the time is particularly long for 1-2 minutes. The number of starts is particularly high, 2-4 times. In the past, it was usually started once in summer when the water temperature was high, about 1 minute. Preliminary considerations are it related to the last accident where the left front side was hit by a large vehicle?
Considering that the right lower hem arm was slightly loose during the last maintenance inspection, I bought two lower hem arms and two lower arm bushings from Fabia before this maintenance and replaced them at the same time; I bought two rear shock absorbers, also from Fabia, Germany. The original Fabia buffer rubber has been used for six years but only aged without breaking, far exceeding the service life of the original factory of 2 years and the auxiliary factory of 1 year.
On-site inspection of auto repair shop:
Question 1: The correct judgment is to replace the lower hem arm and bushing.
Question 2 is correct. The aging of the skylight water pipe connection caused water leakage, not the air conditioner leakage. It’s just that there is a process for the aging of water pipes, so it takes about half a year from the carpet getting wet and moldy to the faucet turning on when it rains outside and inside. Considering that my car is basically parked in the underground garage, the quality of Tiguan’s plastic and rubber parts can be seen.
Question 3 was wrong. In fact, one of the electronic fans was broken, and it was the small one, which caused the heat dissipation to fail to keep up. The only large fan was overloaded.
The entire maintenance took nearly three hours (basic one-person maintenance), costing 1100 yuan, the man-hours for two lower swing arms were 400, the man-hours for two rear suspension and buffer rubbers were 200, the man-hours for oil change were 100, the electronic fan was 360 (during material processing), and the skylight water pipe was 120 (during material processing).
Problem: This oil change is to drain oil from the oil pan, and there is no oil pumping to replace it completely, so adding 5 liters of oil exceeds the max by half a centimeter.
Notes: After changing the lower swing arm, if the straight direction deviates or the steering wheel cannot be completely corrected, four-wheel alignment is needed.
