DIY-Buick Sail Replacement Middle Section of Exhaust Pipe
The original Buick Sail car did not have a middle section of the exhaust pipe, but only a front section and a tail section. The front section starts from the exhaust manifold to the rear of the car body, including the three-way catalyst and the front muffler, which are all welded, which is quite unfriendly to maintenance.
So domestic JS found business opportunities and provided a separate so-called middle section of the exhaust pipe, that is, the section from behind the three-way catalyst to the front end.
The interior of the front muffler of the original car has been completely corroded and damaged, and the external interface with the pipe has also been corroded and cracked. After welding many times, it cannot be repaired. So I bought a middle section of the exhaust pipe and constructed it myself, and briefly talked about the process and repair effect.

2. Carefully clean the interface and apply exhaust pipe sealant. Connecting the middle section of the exhaust pipe is simple to say, but the installation is quite torturous. The middle section of the exhaust pipe is a product invented by our country. The workmanship is poor and the size is very poor. The diameter of the interface flare was small and out of circle. It was barely inserted after violently knocking with a hammer. Same as the tail segment interface.
Note: Exhaust pipe sealing requires special sealant. Ordinary engine silicone, AB glue, etc. cannot work. Because the temperature is too high, this kind of glue may cause a fire.

I bought two middle sections of exhaust pipes. The size of the first one was too poor. No matter how I adjusted it, the three-way catalyst would be severely tilted to the left and would hit the car body.
The second one was better, but when it was installed for the first time, because the size was too long, the tail section would hit the hook, so I had to remove it and cut off a section. But the size is still not good enough. The three-way catalyst is positioned to the left, but it will not hit the car body.
I have tried my best to be perfect, but I have to focus my energy on high-level things such as lunar exploration and Mars landing. These scumbags are really scumbags.
