Feedback on replacing the E300L272 rubber horn ring for W212 model
The problem of breaking the sound of the main driver’s horn has existed for several months. The door panel has been removed back and forth almost 10 times. I tried to repair the glue but failed to solve the problem. I’m really glad the door panel has not been removed. Read the forum tutorial on replacing speaker rings www.xcar.com.cn/bbs/viewthread.php? Tid=98516443 I never paid attention to the size before, thinking it was the same size. It turned out that it wasn’t. Mine is the E300L of the W212272 engine. The original car horn uses a rubber ring instead of a foam ring, and the size is also different. Finally, I chose a rubber ring with an outer diameter of 151mm and an inner diameter of 110mm and an inner diameter of 122 mm. The inner ring of the original car horn is pressed under the audio paper basin, and it also needs to be peeled off when disassembled.
It has been removed many times and repaired several times, but the sound breaking problem still cannot be solved. There is no problem with the rubber ring breaking, but the sound will occasionally break. So I decided to replace it, but it might have been too old and lost its ammunition.
Peel it off and measure the size. Rubber rings are different from foam rings. It’s not because if you remove them yourself, you won’t crack for so long.
The original forum riders used foam rings of this size, but after I bought them and removed the door panel, I found that it was different. Are the W212 271 models all foam rings?
The size of the foam ring is much larger, so it does not fit. You can only find the size of a certain treasure again.
I measured the diameter of the paper basin to be 12cm
I measured the distance between the paper basin and the outer ring to be 1.1cm
This is the last size rubber ring I found online that can be placed on. It is in normal use after installation, and no sound break was found. I still package it back according to the original car, brush the inner diameter under the paper basin with glue, and finally add a circle of glue to the edge of the paper basin and the rubber ring. I didn’t wait 24 hours after applying the glue. I just used the stereo. The sound breaking problem has been solved since the installation was completed yesterday. I forgot to take pictures after packaging, so there was no way to upload the final renderings.
