One of the xenon bulbs is broken!

There has been no bullet train for a week. Today, after the lights of a tunnel were turned on, a light fault code appeared on the instrument.
When I got home, I turned on all the lights and walked around the car. I found that the xenon headlight on the left side was no longer working!
After taking a look, there is still a lot of space behind the Sharan headlights, and replacing the light bulb definitely eliminates the need to remove the front bumper like some cars do.
The model of the xenon headlight is D3S, which is the same as my Touan, except that Sharan uses Osram bulbs and Touan uses Philips bulbs. However, my Touan xenon bulb has not broken down for eleven years. Sharan’s Osram has only been three years!
In order to determine whether the bulb was broken or other related components were damaged, I first switched the left and right bulbs, and found that the bulb on the right side turned out to be a CLC retail replacement model with a warranty sticker posted… This must have been replaced by the original owner, because the original car must be the original HBI model, and the broken bulb on the left side is like this.
It’s definitely the light bulb is broken!
Fortunately, I have the habit of backing up and keeping a pair of D3S HBI…
This time, we had to use a 4800K light bulb to replace the original car’s 4200K light bulb, but Osram’s 4800K has been discontinued and cannot be bought. The current 5500K and 6000K are too too white to accept.
I can only choose the Philips 4800K Xenon bulb. The model is D3S42403 XV 2C1. It is said that all properties are better than the 4200.
In fact, Philips did not give me the impression of Osram, but this time, the two Osram xenon bulbs of the original car broke down within 3 years and 60,000 kilometers! This is really not as good as the Philips D3S Xenon bulb in my original Touran headlight. It hasn’t broken after ten years of use! Therefore, this is one of the reasons why they all switched to Philips.
This time, I replaced both sides with new light bulbs, and the ones that were not broken were kept as spare parts.
Two fog lamp H8 bulbs were replaced with 2600K Osram Golden Eyes
It is very easy for Sharan to change the light bulb. The old light bulb can be removed by twisting it a little, and the new light bulb can be installed by twisting it a little more
Remove and disassemble the fog lamp.
It’s all lit up!
Looking at it from this way, it seems that the brightness difference on the two sides is not much, but in fact, the feeling is much better.
The fault code disappears.
