At this time, the friction between the hole wall and the oil and the internal friction between the oil molecules form a damping force on the vibration, which converts the vibration energy of the car into oil heat energy, which is then absorbed and dissipated into the atmosphere by the shock absorber.
Shock absorbers are not used to support the weight of the car body, but are used to suppress the shock of the spring absorbing and rebound after the earthquake and absorb the energy of the road impact. The spring plays a role in alleviating the impact, changing the “one-time impact of large energy” into “multiple impacts of small energy”, while the shock absorber gradually reduces the “multiple impacts of small energy”. If the shock absorber is damaged, the vehicle will bounce through bumpy roads, and the shock absorber is used to suppress this bounce. Without shock absorbers, the rebound of the spring cannot be controlled. When the car encounters bumpy roads, it will have a serious bounce. When cornering, the tire grip and tracking will be lost due to the vibration of the spring up and down.
The original factory of Sorento is equipped with a single-barrel hydraulic shock absorber. Part of the shock absorber that has died of life will leak oil, and the other part will show no leakage, but lose its function. The shock absorber replaced in this post is a loss-of-function type.
