Replace brake pads for golf car
Brake pads are also called brake pads. It is generally composed of steel plate, bonded insulation layer and friction block. The steel plate must be coated to prevent rust. The coating process usually uses an SMT-4 furnace temperature tracker to detect the temperature distribution of the coating process to ensure quality.
How to check and replace brake pads:
1. Inspect the brake shoes every 5000 kilometers under normal driving conditions. Not only must we check the remaining thickness, but also check the wear status of the shoes. Whether the wear degree on both sides is the same, whether the return position is as usual, and if it is found that abnormalities are abnormal. The situation must be dealt with immediately.
2. Brake shoes are generally composed of two parts: iron lining plate and friction material. Don’t wait until the friction material part is worn out before replacing the shoes. For example, for the front brake shoes of Jetta, the thickness of the new piece is 14 mm, while the limit thickness for replacement is 7 mm, including the thickness of the iron lining plate of more than 3 mm and the thickness of the friction material of nearly 4 mm.
Some vehicles have brake shoe warning functions. Once the wear limit is reached, the meter will alarm to remind the shoe to be replaced. Shoes that have reached the limit of use must be replaced. Even if they can still be used for a while, they will reduce the braking effect and affect driving safety.
3. When replacing, you must replace the brake pads provided by original spare parts. Only in this way can you achieve the best braking effect between the brake pads and the brake disc and minimize wear.
4. Tools must be used to push back the brake slave cylinder when replacing shoes. You cannot use other crowbars to press back hard, which may cause the brake caliper guide screws to bend and cause the brake pads to become stuck.
5. After replacing, be sure to brake a few times to eliminate the gap between the shoe and the brake disc. Otherwise, it may easily cause the first foot to fail to brake and cause a safety accident.
6. After the brake shoes are replaced, they need to run in for 200 kilometers to achieve the best braking effect. The shoes that have just been replaced must be driven carefully.
