Today, I started to replace the Corolla front pull rod ball joint. It was easy. Remove the wheel, loosen the fixing screw of the pull rod, withdraw the cotter pin, loosen the castle nut, knock twice with a wrench, spray loosening agent, and then smash it with a wrench. Come out, twist off the ball joint, remember the number of turns, tighten the new ball joint according to the original number of turns, tighten the castle nut with a torque wrench, put on the cotter pin (the cotter pin is too thick to only pass through one), tighten the locknut, install the wheel.
If the steering wheel is not right in the later period and you feel running away or the tires are worn off when driving, four-wheel alignment is performed.
There is very little information on this HEDLOK brand online. It may be a small Japanese brand. The lubricating oil that comes out of it is not what you usually see, but is translucent and a little like chewing gum. I don’t know if it has gone bad over the years or is just designed this way. This oil comes out and blocks the hole without falling out.
