The sharing of some vehicle repair and maintenance cases is updated irregularly. Let more people understand some tips in daily car use, maintenance, and testing. Use cars to understand cars better!

One Volvo will arrive at the store on October 5.
Many times when we use cars, we need to pay attention to the need to inspect and repair the vehicle before the holidays. Don’t wait until there are problems during the holidays. If you urgently need the car, maintenance will become very troublesome at this time. For example, during this National Day period: Volvo Daku has been on holiday, and many parts manufacturers have also closed down for rest. Many parts cannot be found at all (generally commonly used or maintenance supplies will be available).

The problem with this Volvo is that after P gear is engaged, it cannot be engaged in D gear, which means that it is stuck in P gear and cannot be engaged.

In this state, the gear handle is always in the P position and cannot be pulled down.

We know that automatic transmission requires pressing on the brake when shifting gears. When pressing on the brake, it gives a signal to the shifting mechanism, and then the gear can be switched.

Step down

Okay, the gear has not changed! Still in P gear.

When I stepped on the brake for the second time, I heard an insignificant sound, but there was no sound when I stepped on the brake last time.

This sound is the normal sound made by the shifting mechanism when it is working, so this time the gear is down and it is locked in the D gear.

After repeated verification, it was found that the shifting mechanism was not always working every time the brake was pressed, and it was intermittent, which led to faults during shifting gears.
As a result, we knew the problem, and the next step was to open and find the fault of the shifting mechanism.

The tool box is in place and start removing the control panel

There was no problem with the test pen.

This operation showed that the problem was not on the line.

Inspecting the shifting mechanism, it was found that the shifting mechanism would be obviously stuck every time it received a signal, and sometimes it would not respond.
Check for damage to the circuit board of the shifting mechanism. The problem of replacing it with new accessories can also be solved here, but the price is high, and there is no place to get the accessories in the past few days.
I repaired the circuit board (very professional) Anyway, I don’t know much about circuits. So some things cannot be uploaded.
