Change oil, transmission oil, add power spring
As soon as the car got on the operating table, he took a photo and posted it in the group. Immediately, some group members said it was a real Buick.
Because it is a friend’s small workshop and the equipment is not as complete as the large repair shop, this gravity oil drainage is divided into two stages. In the first stage, the oil drainage is carried out. Less than 5 liters, about 4.5 liters, and it cannot be pumped out. Then we proceed to the second stage, gravity drainage. The mouth of the equipment is not big enough, so an extra large basin has been added. The screws are all hexagonal and number 10 seems to be. All men, women and children are the same model.
The screws are all in place. Don’t worry if you say one is missing when you install them. I don’t know what year the oil in this gearbox is from, but it smells like it has been severely expired and deteriorated. A friend said that this kind of oil has been used for so long, and it is worth you. It is indeed good for you to have. It is in good health and easy to feed.
The oil has been drained and the shell has been removed, exposing the inside of the gearbox oil pan. There are so many screws, I don’t know which is which, so I might as well remove them all.
I was quite depressed when I took it off. Doesn’t this have springs? Could it be that the previous car owner added it? I quickly went to the forum to check the posts and pictures. After comparison, I found that the spring was in the wrong position, and there were also big springs on the pictures. Where did they go? It turned out that it was not installed when it was demolished. That’s impossible. It’s not so unreliable.
After comparing the pictures, my friend turned the spring and revealed this position in the picture. That’s right, it’s here.
It’s your turn.
I added it to this position because my friend was called by me and had no choice but to do this before. This is also my first time doing this. I have read posts before, but I have never done anything hard.
The two springs, one left and one right, are replaced side by side. It’s quite easy, but the early process is troublesome.
After it was installed, it was installed back. A friend looked at the internal structure and said, in fact, we don’t understand it. If we did, we only need to remove 4 screws to remove it. Indeed, it is not easy to install screws against your head and upwards. Anyway, it is not easy to install and it is quite exhausting. Insert the three pipes and install the other screws. The next step is to install the transmission filter.
This filter can also be plugged in directly. There is no technical content to speak of, except that the copper pipes on it are not so easy to put on, so my friend directly installed the original filter and used it the same.
The oil stains on the bottom shell have been wiped clean, revealing its true color. Original factory goods are original factory goods, and the quality is there. This friend of mine works very seriously and carefully. The front cover of the cars he has to maintain will be cleaned clean. This is a good habit and worth carrying forward. Put the new gearbox cushion on it and you can put on the screws.
The screws were tightened three times in circles, or how to say, he worked carefully and tightened them one by one, afraid that one would not tighten them in place and the job was completed.
It took almost two hours to work. This maintenance time, the oil, gearbox oil, and a power storage spring were added. On the way back to the city, I didn’t feel any shift impact. I stopped for about a month before. I didn’t move. At that time, there seemed to be no shift impact, but it seemed to appear slowly after driving for a few days. I don’t know if the gearbox oil problem caused the shift impact. No matter what, it would be nice if there were no such phenomena.
