It was a dark night, and I was driving alone on a provincial highway without street lights, when suddenly a van sped past me, and then I heard a crash. Out of instinct, I immediately pulled over to check, picked up a flashlight to check the car glass and body, and found something unusual. It was only then that I drove home with peace of mind. When I used the car at dawn the next day, I found that there was a spot the size of soybeans in the middle of the two wipers and there were cracks in it. If I let it go, I was afraid that the crack would continue to expand and affect driving safety. I transferred to several car glass stores at the suggestion of my friends, and there was a repair price of 200 a hole, which was too expensive to accept, and I searched the Internet for glass repair. Did not expect that there is really such a tool, so resolutely buy do-it-yourself repair, not to mention the following picture to see the repair process.
This is the damage, which should be caused by the pebbles involved by the car in front. If you let it go, keep driving. I was afraid that due to the influence of wind pressure and temperature, the crack would continue to expand and affect driving safety, so it was not worth it, so I decided to repair it.
Spent 68 yuan on the Internet to buy the repair tool, its principle in the glass damaged cracks to fill the repair solution, rely on ultraviolet radiation to solidify it, to achieve the purpose of repair.
In order to repair in time and improve the success rate (because ultraviolet rays will solidify the repair solution in advance during daytime open-air construction), I decided to build at night. First use a jump needle to clean the damaged area, if there is liquid infiltration inside, it will take at least three days to sun before construction, so as to ensure a better infiltration of the repair solution during repair.
And then stick to the device with the repair solution.
Add 5-7 drops of repair solution.
Insert the syringe and pull down the top to draw the air from the damaged area. this syringe is different from the one used in the hospital, which has two buckles that can be fixed.
Observe the damage from the car.
It takes about 15 minutes to vacuum, when the damaged area can be heated in the car to increase the flow of the liquid.
Fifteen minutes later, unplug the syringe, pull the syringe lever to the top, reinsert the syringe and push it to the second buckle position to secure the pressure.
Observe the infiltration from the car to effectively fill the crack (if the effect is not satisfactory, you can repeat the above steps)
Remove the base, drop the repair solution, and apply the curing film (which can absorb ultraviolet rays).
Exposure to the damaged area with a solidified lamp for about ten minutes is actually a banknote detection lamp.
After irradiation, remove the curing film and use a blade to quickly and vertically scrape off the residual repair solution on the glass. (the repair solution becomes white and powdered after solidification.)
Looking at the damaged position of the glass during the day, the crack was effectively filled, but the impact point could not be filled, but it was already very satisfactory.
Compared before and after the repair, I didn’t expect to be able to repair the glass and saved more than 100 yuan, which made me feel fulfilled.
Repair considerations:
1. Make sure that the repaired glass is dry and free of foreign bodies before repair. if there is any liquid, it will take at least three days for construction.
2. The repair process can only be carried out in a cool place, otherwise the repair solution will be cured in advance if the ultraviolet radiation in the sun does not fully penetrate into the crack. Daytime construction is recommended to be carried out indoors.
