The sharing of some vehicle repair and maintenance cases is updated irregularly. Let more people understand some tips in daily car use, maintenance, and testing. Use cars to understand cars better!

Engine overheating? Should the vehicle continue to drive?
Under normal circumstances, the answer we give is: No. Faced with overheating of the engine, what ordinary people can usually do is to dissipate heat first, open the cover, etc., and then check whether the coolant is missing (do not open the coolant cover immediately to avoid excessive internal pressure and the liquid will spray out and burn), so if the engine is overheated due to other fault reasons, you have to seek professional help.
In a BMW 3 driving on the road, the instrument issued a warning signal of “engine overheating” during normal driving. After inspection, it was found that the coolant was not missing.

Normally, when the engine is overheated, you must first check whether the coolant is missing. If there is a missing coolant, add it and find a maintenance point to repair the leak.
If the coolant is not missing, you need to check the fan, water pump, thermostat and other components.

The importance of special inspection at this moment is very prominent. Enter the system to detect fault information (fault code)

Electric coolant pump failure
Engine cooling system-coolant pump speed is out of tolerance.
The speed of the coolant pump is adjusted according to the temperature. The meaning that the tolerance range is out of range means–the coolant pump is hung up. Don’t think too much and quickly find a place to replace it!

The coolant pump is located in different positions according to the model and engine, and the difficulty of disassembly and disassembly is different. However, the disassembly and disassembly of this engine coolant pump is not too difficult.

You can see it by removing the bottom guard. When replacing parts of the cooling system, one thing needs to be done first-the discharge of coolant. Drain part of the antifreeze in the car, replace it and empty it all.
The tail of the coolant pump indicates that to replace it, all the antifreeze needs to be drained.

It is also mentioned above that the disassembly of the water pump is relatively simple. After the antifreeze is drained, enough disassembly space is given, and a few fixing screws can be disassembled.

Replace it with a new installation.

Add antifreeze-special antifreeze and anticorrosive agent for BMW, special for heat dissipation, no products with added nitrite.
Pure water (distilled water) is added one-to-one.
The installation of the electronic water pump has been completed, and the problem of excessive engine temperature in the BMW 3 has been solved.
