The sharing of some vehicle repair and maintenance cases is updated irregularly. Let more people understand some tips in daily car use, maintenance, and testing. Use cars to understand cars better!
For a BMW 325i, the engine fault light lights on and is accompanied by engine tremors. It is weak to refuel. The tanker sits back (the car is pulled) and then runs forward. After opening the front hood, the engine sounds like a tractor.
The ignition coil of this car is broken.
After the ignition coil is broken, the corresponding cylinder will not work, resulting in shaking at idle speed and failure to add oil. The fault light is on, and the ignition coil will leak electricity. Sometimes it will shake and sometimes not shake at idle speed, but it will definitely shake and be weak when adding the accelerator.

In addition, if the ignition coil is broken, there will be severe engine vibration. Just like a tractor, the car is weak and shaking, the high gear cannot be moved up, the car is stuck, and the exhaust gas smells very strong.

After receiving the vehicle, first connect to the special inspection to detect vehicle faults.

After calling the fault code, it was found that the problem was in cylinder 2, which had a flameout and a cylinder missing.

Running smoothness value for cylinder 2

After finding out that the problem is cylinder 2, how to determine if there is a problem with the ignition coil?
This is very simple. Change the position of the ignition coil. Change the position of the ignition coil of cylinder 2 and the position of the ignition coil of cylinder 1. If the problem transfers to cylinder 1, doesn’t it mean that it is an ignition coil problem?
Later, you asked me how I knew, it was very simple that I wrote these things after repairing the car!!

Ignition coil for cylinder 1

After removal, the two positions were exchanged for installation, and went out for test run.

The car had not yet run, and after a long distance, the engine fault light lit up again, and it was still weak after the oil was supplied, causing the car to fail.
Returning, we continued the special inspection. The result of this inspection became that cylinder 1 was flameout. The obvious result came out. There was a problem with the ignition coil.

When it’s over, the final result is to replace the ignition coil, and then all problems disappear.
