Among all auto parts, wiper tape can be said to be a consumable item. After all, the tape is exposed to the outside and has to withstand the sun and rain every day. If it is exposed to the scorching sun in summer, the tape is most likely to age.
Once the rubber strip ages, there may be abnormal noises when using the wiper and the wiper cannot remove water stains, which may affect the driver’s vision. If it is abnormal, it is mainly the sound of the rubber strip rubbing against the front glass. If you endure it, it will be fine. However, if the vision is unclear, it may bring safety hazards to driving. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the aging rubber strips in time.
In the past, every time I replaced the wiper strip at a car wash shop, I asked the masters of the car wash shop to do it for me. However, as the saying goes: asking for help is better than asking for yourself, not to mention that this operation is not difficult at all, so I planned to try to replace it myself.
It finally rained in Hengyang after a long drought a few days ago. When driving out at night, I found that the wiper made a harsh noise when in use, and the wiper could not be cleaned up. It seemed that I had to prepare to replace it.

After the fine weather cleared, I parked the car in the public parking lot of the unit to replace the wiper strip.

Take out the spare wiper strip you purchased before.

Prepare to start replacing the wiper strip, starting from the front right first.

Find the position of the wiper clip and open the clip slightly.

The wiper buckle has been opened.

After opening the buckle, we can see the wiper support rod inside: U-shaped hook.

In order to prevent the U-shaped hook from damaging the front glass during replacement, place some car washing towels at the position of the U-shaped hook.

Hold the wiper strip in your hand and push it forward to withdraw the U-hook from the buckle.

Unpack the newly purchased adhesive strips.

Open the buckle on the new adhesive strip

Install the U-hook into the buckle of the adhesive strip

Tighten it with a little force to avoid loosening, and then fasten the buckle.

Installed right wiper strip.

Let’s get a close-up.

Now it’s the turn of the glue strip on the left.

Prepare to remove the old adhesive tape

Remove the U-hook from the adhesive strip.

Unpack new adhesive strips

Prepare to install new adhesive strips

Press the outside buckle tightly.
