Continuation of replacing Volvo’s automatic start-stop battery
At the beginning of February, when the vehicle started in the morning, the dashboard prompted a start/stop fault alarm and a parking assistance system fault alarm. After going to the 4s shop to be fully charged, it only lasted for 2 days, but the fault code appeared again. Then going to the 4s shop to test the voltage and current confirmed that the starting battery did not store electricity, and the small battery failed, finally agreed to replace it for free. Since there are no parts to order in the store (they arrive around the 15th of the first month) and logistics will no longer ship them until the Spring Festival, they can only wait. Fortunately, the failure of the automatic start-stop battery does not affect daily use, so there is no impact or delay on me during the Spring Festival.
The 4s store called yesterday afternoon and told me that I could come and install it at any time when the goods arrived, so I made an appointment to go there this morning. Arrived at the store on time the next day, and started work directly due to the reservation of the reserved workstation. The working order, dismantling the old battery, and measuring the voltage and current of the new battery with a special Volvo test tool all showed 100%. After my confirmation, the car was loaded. After restarting it again, I saw that the dashboard start/stop fault codes had been eliminated, but the fault of the parking assist function still existed, and it was useless to connect to the computer upgrade system. There was no way out, the maintenance personnel had to remove the large battery wire connector in the rear trunk and cut off the power. After 15 minutes, it was reconnected, and all fault codes were eliminated after starting again. After about 10 kilometers of driving and testing, it stopped again and started again twice, but no trouble code alarm appeared again. It was finally done! Here’s a suggestion for all Volvo owners: Start/stop and parking assistance are the same line. If this fault occurs, directly replace the small battery and then power off the large battery. After reconnecting the power, the fault code will be eliminated. Don’t bother like I do. It’s time-consuming.
