Today, on the last day before the cooling down during the National Day holiday, I planned to drive my family out to play. I didn’t expect all kinds of unpleasantness to happen today. First, halfway through the game, the north wind suddenly started and the temperature dropped, and sporadic light rain also followed, leaving me disappointed. Then there were several problems with the car, in turn:
1. When setting off, the car was a little stuffy, so I turned on the air conditioner to cool down. Unexpectedly, the blower stopped working and the air outlet no longer blew. In desperation, I had to open windows on the viaduct to breathe at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It was extremely embarrassing.
2. After returning home at noon, I entered the basement and found that only the position lights were on, and the headlights were out of order again. Well, it’s a bit unlucky.
3. After parking, I found that the driving recorder was not working again. After careful inspection, it turned out that the power outlet of the 12V cigarette lighter was not electrified.
This series of problems drove people crazy. In desperation, I immediately rushed to the 4S after lunch to diagnose the problem.
It rained in the afternoon, so I couldn’t open the window while running on the viaduct. The blower was not working, so I couldn’t defog the front windshield. I drove to the 4S shop and dropped Xiaoxin into the workstation, waiting for inspection.
The maintenance technician is experienced. When he heard the symptoms I described, he said it was the ignition switch. I still have a little doubts about how the ignition switch problem can have such a series of chain reactions. At my strong request, I had to go to the computer to test it so I can feel at ease.
After testing, the cause still lies with the ignition switch. Fortunately, the store still has stocks in stock, otherwise it would have to wait until after National Day to repair it.
Replacing the ignition switch requires disassembling the steering wheel.
Remove both side guards of the steering wheel.
After the guard plate is removed, the internal structure of the steering wheel is revealed.
The ignition switch is this small part in the red circle.
I heard from the master that it was more interesting to remove the ignition switch. If it happened, it would be easy, but if it happened, it would be quite troublesome.
You need to stick a wire into the hole to find the right mechanism.
It was really difficult. Two people worked hard for a long time, one was responsible for lighting and the other was responsible for operation.
It took five or six minutes to finally get it done!

Installation is easier than removing it down.
After installation, replace the guard plate.
You still need someone to help with lighting the screws. These two little brothers have worked hard.
Fasten the upper guard and you’re done.
After the test run, it was confirmed that they were working normally. At this time, the headlights, blower and cigarette lighter were working normally.
Statement. The ignition start switch is 178.54 yuan, and the working hours are 158.4 yuan, totaling 337 yuan.
It’s really not cheap to replace such a small item. How much money a healthy body saves. I hope everything will be okay for Xiao Xin in the future.
It is relatively easy to repair and replace the Xindong ignition switch this time. I heard that this ignition switch has appeared in several cases on Skoda Xinrui cars, but Xindong has no record of replacing it yet, so I caught up with it again, haha.
Fortunately, the store still has stocks in stock, otherwise we would have to wait until the end of the holidays to order. The lack of any of the functions of headlights, blowers and cigarette lighters will cause inconvenience to driving the vehicle.
